Delivering immediate care to remote areas where it’s needed most.
From humble beginnings in Hyderabad, Pakistan, in November 1989, with our first “Mobile Eye Treatment Camp,” which we used to call “Blindness Eradication Program” at that time, we’ve come a long way. That initial camp saw us screen 1,563 patients, perform 267 surgeries, and distribute 400 glasses. Since then, we’ve grown significantly in scale, expertise, surgical techniques, logistical planning, and cost-effectiveness.
Our Mobile Eye Treatment Camps deliver life-changing eye care to underserved communities worldwide. Through these outreach programs, we provide critical services including cataract removal surgeries, free eye screenings, glasses distribution, and essential medications all designed to restore vision and transform lives. Executing these camps requires meticulous planning and overcoming complex logistical challenges. We carefully select locations based on need, security, and accessibility, partnering with local organizations to maximize our impact. Thanks to this efficient approach, we achieve a high multiplier effect ensuring every resource delivers the greatest possible benefit to those in need.
Our Mobile Eye Treatment Camps bring critical eye care directly to underserved communities across Asia and Africa. These Camps, typically 7-day in duration, provide free vision screenings, glasses distribution, essential medications, and surgeries.
These camps are made possible by extensive planning and logistical coordination, including:
Before every Mobile Eye Treatment Camp, we notify local communities in advance, and the response is extraordinary. Thousands arrive, hopeful for eye care that would otherwise be beyond their reach.
Through our screening process, we identify patients requiring surgical intervention (with cataracts being our primary focus). We provide compassionate care to communities in need, with no lengthy waits or fees.
During eye screenings, patients receive free medications and reading glasses on the spot, depending on their needs.
AL BASAR USA offers free cataract and corrective surgeries using the latest medical advancements. Cataract, a leading cause of blindness, is effectively addressed by our skilled medical teams.
During the Mobile Eye Treatment Camps, identified cases for surgery go through multiple pre-operative assessments, including lab investigations and examinations. All patients benefit from the state-of-the-art Phacoemulsification surgical technique.
We are committed to patients complete recovery. Our post-operative care program includes medication and a detailed three-step follow-up schedule:
